Honeymoon Clothes

by Meg Keene, Editor-In-Chief

So, since it’s a holiday week here in the states I thought I’d post most some more frothy, slightly less practical goodness. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been stressed out lately, and I need some stress relief!

Emily, over at Emily Style came up with the neat idea of buying some clothes and tucking them away for her honeymoon (they are going on a americana road trip). That way you have cute outfits for your honeymoon snapshots, and clothes you will look back fondly on as honeymoon clothes. So when I saw this dress, I immediately thought of it as a honeymoon dress.
Honeymoon Clothes | A Practical WeddingNormally I don’t go for a print quite this bold, but this dress says warm night dinner under the stars to me.
Honeymoon Clothes | A Practical WeddingPlus, it’s convertible! (seen here in black) Which means you can wear it multiple times and feel different and sassy each time. It’s a knit, so it won’t wrinkle in your bag.

Dress from Nordstrom. I know! It’s $216 bucks, but I’m gearing up for vacation, my practical hat is on a little less firmly.

Since it is reversible, it is $216 for two outfits. The pattern is 108 and the black is 108. Much more practical.

hmmm…I see now that it isn’t reversible as I thought but has convertible straps. I say you get it, find out how many different forms it takes, and divide that into 216.

Ooooo lovely! If we were doing a warm honeymoon, I’d be ALL ABOUT THAT DRESS but we are going skiing in Colorado (January wedding) so my honeymoon wardrobe will consist of a big puffy coat and ski pants!

I’ve been stashing things away :)

My best friend went to Paris for her honeymoon, and she had the best outfits!

There’s tutorials all over the online for how to make this yourself out of your favorite print. And you can make them short or long. My ladies won’t stand with me on the day, since there’s a vastly larger number of them then boys, but they will each get a dress like this, because it’s supremely adaptable to any body size/shape, and amazsingly easy/affordable to make.
