AMEN. I can put wedding expenses on my credit card (the one that gives me miles), but just the sheer amount of excess in that ad gives me hives. I will not spend one penny over what I actually need
lol! i am a planner (a practical one at that) and i have to cosign on the comments. if you must go into debt to fund your wedding, you are inviting waay too many people and probably planning out of envy more than anything else.
oh my god, this is like an advertisement for eloping by reverse psychology! the scariest thing about wedding finances is that there is truly NO LIMIT to what you can spend. all the more reason to make a good budget and stick to it.
Preach it sister! My man and I have a strict policy, if we don’t have the cash for it, we go without it. Way to start a life a big fat credit card bill.
wow…i NEED all those things? and the WIC thinks brides who have less are the crazy ones? puh-lease. my mom would have my head if i asked for any of those things. lol.
Actually, I totally want to cut the last sentence out, and change it to "there were XXX and YYY and they wanted a party to celebrate their marriage. Date , Time, Place." and make it an invite. Is that wrong?
Hi, I'm Meg Keene and I live in San Francisco. I started this blog to talk about planning our 2009 wedding, but it grew to include a lot of grounded smart-alecky women talking intelligently about their weddings and marriages. My first book, A Practical Wedding, was released in January 2012.

Yikes. So much for any meaning to the event! I totally second kimberly–if you can’t budget together for your wedding, how will you in the future?
