You know how people are always saying things like, "Well, our budget was XXX, but that excludes the rings?*" And then you start secretly freaking out, because you are thinking to yourself, "But all we have is XXX, and we need rings too, and they are probably going to be super expensive, and Ack Ack Ack!" Well, enter the new alternative wedding ring designers, Turtle Love Committee (who get extra points for their name, which I love). Turtle Love Committee makes all manner of really affordable wedding rings, that are pretty and simple and lovely. The non-diamond engagement ring above is the Kennebunk, and goes for just $125. (I know. What?)
I am, however, the most partial to their wedding bands. They walk the line between classic and modern, simple yet interesting with understated grace. Understated *affordable* grace.
Plus, they are unique wedding bands, so no matching every other girl in the room. Just being yourself, simply. So what are you waiting for? Browse, shop, enjoy.
*Full disclosure: I tend not to count the cost of my rings in our budget since we bought them long ago (I do count David's). Regardless, this makes the statement no less frustrating.

Beautiful rings :). But I don’t understand why the rings shouldn’t be in the budget… Ours are, and yes, that’s quite a big part, but hey, that’s the only thing we’ll have with the pics to remind us of this day… (which doesn’t mean it HAS to be expensive. But if it is, no reason to freak out if you’re happy with your choice !)

Does anyone know the environmental practices of this company? Do they make any effort to mitigate the terrible effects of mining? I’m wondering because I love their stuff (and their prices!).

Hey Sarah,
I’m pretty sure they are environmentally friendly. Look around on the site, I swear I saw something about that….

I think these rings go to show that a ring does not have to be expensive to be special. Some people find a beautiful ring and when the price isn’t high enough to impress people who ask, they keep looking. I think this is a mistake. Go with a ring you fall in love with!

My engagement ring was an antique. I got a victorian snake ring with sapphires (my birthstone) and diamond eyes with 9K gold. It was about 325. Surprisingly enough most of the rings were around this price range, and its much more interesting then the fat diamonds that are a few grand.
