New APW Sponsors!

It’s February, which means it’s time to quickly introduce you to new APW sponsors for the month. For new readers, let me walk you through how all this works. APW is one of the rare (only?) wedding blogs that is both reader and advertiser supported. Once a year we do a reader fundraising drive, which brings in money that’s used to help pay the assistant editors. The rest of the site is supported through advertising dollars. All APW sponsors are screened to make sure I think they are a great fit for the site and its values (for the record, I turn down sponsors that don’t seem like a great fit on a regular basis). This allows you to shop for sane wedding vendors on APW, and put your money towards small businesses that share your values (for the win!) so, without further ado, here are sponsors that have recently joined us.

A La Carte Albums. Still haven’t made an album of your wedding photos? Um, right. A La Carte Albums to the rescue. Affordable wedding albums, with tons of options, and great customer service. Hooray!

100 Layer Cake Marketplace. You all know about the beautiful 100 Layer Cake wedding inspiration blog, but their new marketplace is an explosion of fantastic (and such a smart technological solution to wedding planning). If you’re not shopping for wedding decor there and putting in requests for vendors at your price point, you should be. Go create an account already.

Little White Chapel. Little White Chapel was started because Paige was infuriated by the fact that wedding jewelry was always sold at such a steep mark-up. So what did she do? She started a super affordable line of beautiful jewelry you could wear on your wedding day and after. Super affordable. Like, $14 earrings.

Little Bat Photography. Jillian West is the photographer behind Little Bat Photography, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her day job is working at Twitter, surrounding herself with creative and fascinating people (how cool). The rest of the time, she’s working on her wedding photography studio. Also? Super talented and affordable.

Christopher Morris Photography. Like lots of APW sponsors, this is Christopher Morris Photography’s first ad anywhere. They have built a business through word of mouth for years, and they figure APW is all the good parts of word of mouth (cool people!), plus the speed of the internet. They are in upstate New York, so Capital Region brides, rejoice.

Amber Marlow Photography. Remember Amber? My Mighty Summit roommate who gave away engagement sessions to APW-ers, because she rules? Well, she’s building her business, and she’s back as an APW sponsor (Yayyy!) She specializes in small weddings, engagement sessions, maternity sessions, family sessions, and about anything else you can imagine. She lives in Brooklyn, and she’s fantastic, and needs to raise her rates (Read: Good for you!)
Also, I’m delighted to welcome back our own Allison Andres Photography, long time APW reader who’s finally a full time APW sponsor (Go Allison!) Bay Area Brides, get on that.
Finally, I’m pleased as punch to welcome back Ted Nghiem Photography in the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania area.

yay! so much good stuff here. Putting in a personal plug for 100 Layer Cake Marketplace – its a great set up to buy and sell decor, paper goods, favor packaging, etc. I found it via APW and love it.

Forget candy, I’m spending my APW check on Little White Chapel.

    Not kidding.

Little White Wedding Chapel has earrings and necklaces that are pearls with darkened metal. That happens to be one of my favorite looks and can be worn for more than weddings.

Another great list of wedding vendors! A La Carte Albums is perfect for me! I have a photographer who’s going to shoot and edit my photos but I wasn’t sure what I would do with the high-res files. I’m sure others are in the same boat. Thanks!

Amber Marlow is amazing! We were one of the winners of her photo sessions and they were AWESOME!!! She is an amazing person and takes amazing pictures. We felt like we had known her for years, it was such a comfortable experience. Plus she took a bazillion pictures so we knew we’d get amazing stuff, which we did.
