Meg’s Vacation = Team Practical’s Party

by Meg Keene, Editor-In-Chief

It’s been, well, a long year, and as of Sunday I’m going on a vacation for two weeks. It will be a proper vacation—the kind where you don’t check your blog, or your twitter feed, or even your email too much. The kind where you lie around by the water and write in your pen-and-a-paper journal. The kind where no one tells you how amazing/horrible you are. The kind where you take naps.

Let’s just say I’m looking forward to it.

So, in the two weeks that I’m gone, everything will run just as it always does here at APW. There’ll be wedding grads, and reclaiming wife, things to discuss, and even posts from me. The only difference is other people will be in charge. So, I’m thrilled to introduce your Team Practical moderators for the duration.

Megs Vacation = Team Practicals Party | A Practical Wedding

First there is Liz of Happy Sighs, reprising her role from last year (um. the picture she provided is clearly awesome?). You may remember Liz from such posts as Babies Don’t Ruin Your Marriage; Life-Living and Woman-Being LessonsSex, Waiting, and Weddings; Self Catering a Dessert Reception; and her own wedding.

And second there is Lauren of Suburbalicious Living. You may remember Lauren from every Yay New York picture (she volunteered), and posts like The Road Not Taken, Promise, The Original Wedding Zen, and her own wedding. We got married the same day. She’s been reading since the beginning.

I’ve been joking that Liz and Lauren are the iron fist and the velvet glove. Liz is a high school teacher, and she will make no bones about telling you to sit down and shut up if you can’t be nice. Lauren doesn’t take any guff, but she’s serene about it. You’ll be in good hands. Their comments will be in pink, like mine, for the duration, and they’ll take down people who are being awful (if anyone is awful, which I hope not). And of course the APW staff will be slaving away behind the scenes for you while I’m gone.

So play nice, and don’t have too much fun without me. I’ll be back with a few more naps under my belt. Till then, three cheers for Liz and Lauren!
