Hello!
Happy MLK day, and greetings from the land of packing for a month. Packing. For. A. Month. This is totally "Packing Light: The Oh My God Edition." I leave tomorrow, which means tomorrow afternoon you'll have your very first update from the train. (Yay Amtrak!) But, before I go, there is one last update. We have the LA stop for the tour!
Sunday 2/12: LA (ok Pasadena) APW Book Tour Stop
1pm, Vroman’s Stationery Store
When it came time to plan a slightly-last-minute LA stop, I remembered that Vroman's had a stationery store where they kept all the wedding books, which is located next door to the main bookstore. I had a feeling no one ever had asked to do an event there. So! Without further ado, we grabbed it. It was also the very first place I saw my book on a real live bookstore shelf, so I'm particularly fond of it (and it's a rad bookstore). I'm hoping it makes it easy for all you Inland Empire people to come too. It's the very last stop on the book tour, so it will be exciting and bittersweet all at once. Join me, won't you?
And with that, the tour is planned! There won't be any other stops, at least until spring. I'm really sorry if I'm not coming to your city. But. A month on the road is enough. And I still love you all.
The full, and final book tour list is now on the APW Book Page, for easy reference. And now. I have a month's worth of packing to finish. I'll see you very very soon....
Meg
P.S. Don't worry! Thanks to the wonders of working ahead, iPhone tethering on trains, and the amazing APW staff, content will be just the same as usual plus some travel updates from me, while I'm gone. Yayyy!

Have a wonderful trip, Meg! Slightly jealous of your travels, sad you won’t be in southern Alberta, but hope your trip is fabulous!

I’m planning to buy your book in park slope, and I’m bringing my pre-fiancé (we are in the pre-engaged state which is DEfinitely a real state, in the sense that we talk about wedding details and our parents have met, he has a ring that is a family heirloom and says he will propose soon…) and I’m excited to see the book and for him to get a sense of APW people. How many men have you had at your events so far? I’m so glad I found your blog last summer and am riding the wave just at the right time (we talk of wedding spring 2013)!!

There were definitely a solid handful of men in SF. In Brooklyn, there will be more, since our personal friends will be in attendance, along with David.

I’m not on Facebook, so I can’t RSVP there, but I am most definitely coming! Pasadena is a little trek, but so worth it! So glad you’re coming down here. Thanks, Meg!

Good luck on your strategic packing-for-a-month. :) You can do it! (Over the last couple of years, I have started traveling for 3-week trips with only a backpack and small carry-on, and kinda love the challenge and freedom of it now.)
