One sentence sum up of the wedding vibe: Two real life cartoon characters run away together.
Other cool stuff we should know about: We kicked it old school and called our parents from the courthouse immediately afterwards being all, “Surprise, we’re married!,” but we dropped hints pretty heavily that week. We had announcement postcards printed up and ready to drop in the mail the day of too, so we wouldn’t have to have someone awkwardly find out a week later via Facebook. I sent my mother flowers at work that day. We’d also been engaged for a year and half and the response was mostly, “What took you so long?” I made an elopement spreadsheet checklist based on Nina B’s grad post from years earlier.
Favorite thing about the wedding: Rory: Every time I wear my sandy stunt shoes I think about that day on the beach. James: All of it… and eating cake in bed.

Adorable. And I love to see other couples rocking two pairs of glasses on their wedding day. And your stunt shoes are so awesome that I can’t even imagine how awesome the others are.

That’s the courthouse where we had our legal ceremony (a couple days before our wedding because our officiant wasn’t, er, official)! Wasn’t the little wedding arch adorable and hilarious? We had a really funny justice of the peace marry us there. And I love the shots on my hometown beaches :)

Yes! Did you notice the candles they had set up along side the arch thing? Definitely still had the price stickers on them, ha.

I did not catch that! But I am not surprised. There were lots of fake flowers and tulle, that’s for sure.

This brought a smile to my face! A beautiful day, such obvious joy, and no one being afraid to be silly – now, that’s my kind of wedding!

This is so wonderful! There is so much love and silliness! Also, I totally dig the ring shot with the wacom pen on the light meter!

We stayed in a B&B and the innkeepers made those for us! As best I could tell, they were like two of the top parts of cupcakes, cut apart and filled with whipped cream. SO GOOD.

Yes! That is the word. Although I thought a whoopie pie had frosting in the middle and not whipped cream? I guess it’s pretty much the same thing.

I did a double take at the ring picture; I know that’s a pen, but it looks like it’s a torpedo cannon set up to shoot the ring!! Or am I the only one who thought that? :P

don’t usually react to these, but this wedding is so gorgeous and radiates happiness. Looking at the bride’s beautiful smiling face made me realise that I get to have that day and it’s gonna be an oasis of happiness in a sea of craziness! Thank you.
