One sentence sum-up of the wedding vibe: A laid-back evening at the local park, with some music, BBQ, and lots of love thrown in.

Other cool stuff we should know about: As soon as Dave and I got engaged, we knew we would hold our wedding in Patterson Park. Just a block from our home, it’s the place where we had our first date and where we got to know each other over the course of many strolls with the dogs. The best part: now we get to walk past the tree where we got married almost every day!

We wanted our wedding to be inclusive and relaxed, and I think we accomplished that with the help of many generous friends and family members. Leading up to the wedding, my mom and I scoured flea markets and secondhand shops to collect our mismatched plates, paper lanterns, and lace tablecloths (which were actually curtains!). My un-bridesmaids helped me sew table runners and make bunting from the leftover linen and lace scraps. On the day before the wedding, my mom, some girlfriends, and I made our bouquets and centerpieces with wildflowers gifted from a wholesale florist whose daughter swims on Dave’s team. One of Dave’s best friends created the design for our water bottle wedding favors, another mixed up a huge batch of his famous margaritas, and two other friends provided drinks from their beer and wine shop. A good friend and co-worker of mine was our DJ.

We wanted to keep our wedding as local as possible, and we found some incredible vendors (almost literally!) right in our backyard. Our caterer, Damian from Blacksauce Kitchen, lives a few blocks down the street, and he worked really closely with us to design an incredible menu showcasing ingredients from our local farmers markets. The amazing Annie Howe from Bmore Papercuts designed our super-cool place mats, and our cake came from a French bakery, Patiesserie Poupon, about a mile from our house. We also found two wonderful vendors through APW—our photographer, Debi, and month-of planner, Katie. I can’t imagine getting through the day without either one of them.

Favorite thing about the wedding: Linn—Having all of my loved ones in the same place at the same time, and the look on Dave’s face during our vows. Dave—Our many DIY aspects, the spruced up pavilion, and my radiant bride!

I am so excited to see this! Your wedding was absolutely gorgeous. I basically grew up in Patterson Park. So near and dear to my heart and I am smiling so big right now! Congratulations!!

  • Casey

Beautiful wedding, and I love your song choice! That was one of the songs we had played right before our ceremony stated, still makes me emotional to hear it.

  • Sara

Exceptionally beautiful, I absolutely love it!!! The dogs being at the reception was my favorite part :)

    • M is for Megan

My fave part too. I am so sad there aren’t any dogs that will be able to be in/at my wedding — so many in the family but location issues…and “ability to not go nuts around 100 people” issues ;)

Everyone at this wedding looks so HAPPY!

I’m sad about not having our dog there too. I so feel like she just must be the flowegirl. But we’re getting married out of state…and then flying away on our honeymoon so it would just be way too complicated.:(

      • Linn

Thanks! Our dogs actually have that “go nuts around 100 people” thing too, so we just asked our dog walker to bring them over for a quick hello and some family photos. :) They definitely would’ve gotten into trouble if they’d had free reign at the reception!

This is awesome! My (now) husband and I were very close to getting married in Patterson Park, since we lived across the street on Eastern for several years (we must have been neighbors!). We ended up choosing the pier in Fells Point for logistical reasons, and – like you – are grateful that we still get to frequently walk by the exact spot that we got married! You guys did a beautiful job with the park setting – looks like you all had a great time!

This looks like such a relaxed, lovely wedding — and yay for Maryland! Congrats, Linn and Dave!

As a wedding photographer there are just some special weddings that bring tears to your eyes and a smile to your face. Not just the day of, but while you’re editing and then again when you get to see your photos on APW accompanied by such a great song!

    • Dave Hardy

Thanks for the kind words Debi! It was such a beautiful day and your great work captured all of the joy we all shared that day.

I live blocks from Patterson Park and my husband and I seriously considered having our wedding there (parents’ back yard won), but this one shows what a gem we have right in our back yard! And Blacksauce + Patisserie Poupon = DELICIOUS!!! Beautiful Baltimore wedding!!

  • Gretchen

Just lovely! The whole thing, I love the relaxed, fun atmosphere and the fact that you two are clearly having a blast yourselves. But one thing, you have to tell me where you got your dress…(please?)

    • Chris

Pretty sure her dress is a J. Crew Sophia in chiffon.

      • Linn

Yes, Chris is right.. it’s definitely J. Crew, but I can’t remember the name. I just tried to find it in my order history with no luck. I really like the J. Crew dresses, and they are very reasonably priced. It was easy to just order a bunch and then return them to the store.

  • Daniella

I love this! Everything about this just exudes happiness and honesty – love it. Congrats!

  • Jess

Great piece! I personally think with such a beautiful bride and handsome groom those adorable flower girls were the perfect addition. But seriously, you two look just so happy and in love!

  • Andi

Those dogs are SO precious! Love how simple and gorgeous this wedding was :)

Blacksauce is the best! Damian really knows how to make biscuits and chicken. And the kale chips–yum.
