When we introduced the newly launched Bojack Studios back in March, we were super excited about it for a bunch of reasons—namely because this design studio offers stylish, unique, highly customizable invitations and other paper goods at very not custom prices. Illustrator/designer and founder Aaron Hotchkiss has been designing day-of goodies like menus, programs, and place cards for friends for years, but now everyone can get in on the action.

Aaron understands that engaged couples have nine billion things on their plates, and pledges to keep the stationery design process simple. Bojack Studios offers two options for the design of your wedding invites and stationery: You can choose a design from their collections, or have your very own bespoke design created from the ground up. No matter which option you pick, your design is always customizable. The design collections are simply starting points that can be tweaked with completely custom colors, fonts, text, layout, and so forth.
And when Aaron says customizable, he means it. Your text doesn’t have to fit into the template; rather, the design will be adjusted to work with your words. You’re also not limited to a few selected colors to choose from; instead, the inks can be color-matched to your exact specifications. (Bojack also offers digital metallic ink, thermography, and letterpress printing options.) And of course, you can pick and choose only what you need from invitations, enclosure and RSVP cards, envelopes, and day-of stationery.
Prior to founding Bojack Studios, Aaron spent many years designing for the fashion industry, where he honed his ability to work in many different styles, taking pieces of inspiration (like your Pinterest board) and translating then into unique designs. Aaron’s background has also made him really open to receiving feedback. Unlike the kind of artist who is attached to their design, Aaron makes it a priority to work together with you to create something that’s perfect for you, whether you’re inspired by Game of Thrones or want to quote Beyoncé lyrics.

digital downloads
If you don’t need to take advantage of Bojack Studios’ high-quality printing, all designs are now available as digital downloads to print yourself. Here are a few of our favorites:
Place/Escort cards: Aaron noticed that a lot of couples needed place cards rushed because of last-minute RSVPs and seating changes, so he’s created designs that are compatible with the pre-scored tent cards you can buy at office supply stores—which means you can have lovely last-minute place cards without worrying about expedited orders and rush shipping. ($9) <–That’s right, you can check a beautiful, unique place card design off your list for less than the cost of the average sandwich.
Sign sets: Sign sets, which include signs for ceremony, reception, or the complete wedding day, are offered at a discount from a la carte signs:
- Ceremony sign sets include a reserved sign, take a program sign, unplugged wedding sign, in loving memory sign, welcome sign, unassigned seating sign, and a bonus love quote sign. ($25)
- Reception sign sets include a guest book sign, a find your seat sign, reserved sign, selfie station sign, photo booth sign, enjoy sign, cards and gifts sign, favors sign, and a thank you sign. ($30)

Custom Portrait Illustrations
We saved the best for last. Bojack Studios is now offering adorable custom digital illustrations of you and your partner, your loved ones, your pets—the options are endless. Just provide a photo or a combination of photos, and Aaron will translate it into a one-of-a-kind portrait. These can be used in tons of ways: as art gifts, on invitations or save the dates, as guest book prints, or on thank you cards. Aaron custom-designed our invites (and RSVP cards and info inserts and place cards and table signs and seating list, and…), and did a fantastic job. He took a bunch of ideas that we found online and came up with a perfect design, which is now on his site with some minor changes as the Zelda collection. He put up with multiple rounds of edits from us, and had some great suggestions that we hadn’t thought of. Turnaround was super fast, and he was great to work with.
