Where Can You Donate Your Wedding Dress… and What Other Options Are There?

I don't want it to get moth-eaten in the back of the closet

Dye Or Donate Your Wedding Dress

Q:Hi APW,

I need your help! My mom doesn’t want to hold on to her wedding dress anymore but isn’t sure what she can do with it. It’s a beautiful, handmade, 1980s style dress. She’s checked donation websites but either they aren’t accepting dresses or don’t want dresses from between 1965 and 2009. She wants to do something more meaningful with it than dropping it off at Goodwill. She’s also considering dying it and reusing it, but wouldn’t know where to start (or if it’s even possible). Do you have any suggestions?

what did you do with your wedding dress? Did you dye it? Are you storing it FOR A FUTURE GENERATION? Do you style it casually and wear it every weekend? DID YOU SELL It? We’re dye-ing (hah) to know what you’re supposed to say to the dress after the celebrations are over.
