Hello!Lucky Wedding Invitations!

I’m always thrilled to get to talk about Hello!Lucky, who I consider something of San Francisco small business all stars. Hello!Lucky is a local design studio that specializes both in letterpress wedding invitations, as well as more affordable, but just as pretty, digital printed invites. I love them because they offer a huge range of seriously good designs, flexible pricing (you can buy a whole wedding invitation suite, or just go with one simple invite), and a super painless shopping experience. No running around pulling your hair out trying to create customized designs. Nope, just find a design you like from their wide and excellent selection, customize, order, and make it happen. (And it’s guaranteed to be high quality and gorgeous.)
But I particularly want to talk about how fond I am of their designs. This Bohemian Wedding Invitation (designed in collaboration with Suzy Jack, because did I mention? Hello!Lucky also specializes in artist collaborations. Which is just about my favorite thing ever.) is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to my (beloved) wedding invitation design, so naturally I think it’s the most stunning thing ever.
And this Flora and Fauna Save The Date (another amazing artist collaboration!) has got to be one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen. Please, one of you, get it and bask in all the complements that will come rushing your way.
But for me, the thing that makes Hello!Lucky so cool is their particular story. The studio is run by sisters, Sabrina and Eunice, who started Hello!Lucky in 2003 out of Eunice’s garage. Eunice is Hello!Lucky’s Creative Director. The whole thing started when she fell in love with letterpress and bought a vintage Vandercook press from eBay (which they still have and use in the studio!). Sabrina had just received her MBA from Stanford, with a goal of helping talented artists realize sustainable careers doing what they love. So what did she do? She talked Eunice into letting her help turn this hobby into a business… and Hello!Lucky was born. The studio operates out of an old button factory in San Francisco (yes, you can totally stop by) and employs twenty people. They also have a small office in London. Inspiring, no? And you can get a whole behind the scenes look at the studio here.
And I suspect that it’s the balance between the two sisters that makes Hello!Lucky such a great match for APWers. Eunice had an over-the-top DIY wedding that was featured on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings (and oh my god was it gorgeous). Sabrina eloped. So they totally understand the range of wedding aspirations, and they are here to help with wherever you’re at—from fancy to simple—and their invitations reflect that.
And to add to the fun, they recently released free downloads for table numbers in three of their most popular designs, which you can download and enjoy right here. Plus, stay tuned to their blog this summer, as even more free downloads are coming. (Hooray!)
But mostly, off you go! Time to enjoy a bit of browsing before the long weekend. Their website is super easy to navigate, with tons of wedding invites (and super stylish baby announcements, greeting cards, and stationery, for the not-getting-hitched among us). So go, play, shop, and be inspired.

We used them for our save the dates which were super cute and affordable. They were really easy to work with and I was able to go and pick them up directly from their studio. Highly recommended!

These are gorgeous. I did the whole gasp-and-be-jealous in the middle of a conference thing at that first picture.

I got mine from here. I liked the samples they sent and the edit process, though I had a bit of trouble with a seemingly non-English-speaking designer based out of Germany mangling my wording changes. I’m happy to report the customer service person got it all worked out.
