Two Cents: getting with the program is easier said than done

What Ceremony Details Do You Include On The Wedding Program?

Q: Hello,

As I’m working on our ceremony, I find myself thinking about the wedding program. What goes on a program? I think we want to have one, since we’re having a church ceremony that’s going to include at least one hymn and such. But how much detail do you put in one? The names of the readings? Do you put the text of anything that anyone’s saying, like readings of prayers, or is that too much? (Probably.) What other kinds of things do you put in one? The only wedding I’ve been to recently was Quaker and didn’t have a program, so I’m really rather lost. What should we include?

Thanks!

OK, APW HIVEMIND, Did you have a program at your wedding? What have you really appreciated on a program in the past? Do you really need all the lyrics of every song, and all the readings? What’s necessary and what’s just a waste of paper?
