A Kid-Friendly, At-Home Northern California Wedding

With a forty-children-strong musical parade!

Ilana, Hot Biker-Mama, PhD Student & Todd, Musician

One sentence sum-up of the wedding vibe: Fun and relaxed celebration times set along the shore. Sound track for reading: “Rainbow Connection” by Kermit the Frog

Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About: There were over forty kids in attendance. They started the ceremony off by entering as a musical parade, banging on instruments. They then turned into flower children and all walked down the aisle. There were also over forty pies. Friends and family made them under the guidance of a bridesmaid who works at Arizmendi Bakery. The table decorations were made by the bride’s mother, who spent a year growing succulents in sea shells. She also grew flowers specifically for the wedding and put them into arrangements for the tables.

Favorite Thing About the Wedding: The kids, the pies, and the amazing music.
