Other cool stuff we should know about: Adam and I had the most perfect wedding, mostly because the most important thing to us was actually getting married! The wedding was a wonderful way to share that celebration with our nearest and dearest, and celebrate we did! We were blessed with the most glorious springtime sunshine, and our family and friends showered us in love. It was so important to us to create a relaxed wedding, with emphasis on good food, lovely wine, and keeping it real and simple. Almost everything we bought for the wedding was handmade, either by friends and family or purchased on Etsy (that website is like bridal crack, once you start it’s so hard to stop!), and we supported local businesses and vendors as much as possible. Whatever we could do ourselves, we did—the bridal party hair and makeup, the wedding favours, and many of the decorations were DIY. Adam’s cousin took the gorgeous pictures, and a dear friend played all the tunes we danced to and enjoyed all day. All in all, it was a very special day and we’ll always remember how it felt to look out over the sun setting on the valley mountains and think, “We got married today, aren’t we lucky!”
Favorite thing about the wedding: Our rustic venue, the spring flowers, and the smiles on our faces when we were pronounced husband and wife.
