Sponsored Post: Fedorov Foto, Affordable NYC Wedding Photography

Remember Fedorov Foto? They are one of APW’s few New York City photography teams, made up of photographer Alex, and his awesome wife Natalia (who tends to be around to help out). Better yet, in the city of expensive, they are affordable, talented, and kind. Actually, lets talk about Alex’s talent. I’ve watched his work grow in phenomenal ways this year, which makes me think you should book him yesterday already, because his rates are not going to last.

Oh, and they love you guys. I asked them what it’s been like to work with APW couples this year, and Alex told me this – “All the people we have met through APW have been so terrific.  There is definitely a sense of genuineness in APW couples.” And of course I love that. Beyond that, they travel affordably around the Northeast, so look them up already.

And, because they love you, they are offering APW couples a Valentine’s Week special.  For those who book us between now and February 20th for their 2011 wedding, we are happy to offer 15% discount on our Packages 2 and above and an upgrade to a 30-page album in Package 1 at no additional cost. And did I mention? In New York City (forgive my obsession with good wedding prices in New York City, but I lived there and I know), their rates start at just $1100, with packages starting at $1899. Which is nothing short of magic.

And speaking of upgrading albums, Alex wanted me to emphasize how he includes albums in every package, because he thinks they are flat out important. (And as someone currently working on her album 1.5 years after her wedding, I agree). He said,“As a photographer, I have a strong desire for all the couples I work with to walk away from me with something beautiful and timeless from their wedding day. And although my work cannot compete with the most important part of that day, the love and commitment, the family and friends and the marriage that follows, I do believe that having an album that tells a story of all those elements is a special and important part.  While it is essential for a modern couple to get the digital files (which I do provide), but despite loving technology and convenience of the 21st century myself, I think there is still nothing quite like a physical heirloom book.  Because, let’s be honest – after initial couple of months and Facebook compliments are over, how many of us look through all those digital files?  This is why, all my packages include an album, even at my lower price points.” Which is awesome, and rare.

But the story I really want to tell you about Fedorov Foto is what happened with the spur of the moment giveaway they did a few months back. In September, Alex emailed me with a last minute request. He and his wife had been pondering how they wanted to celebrate their 2nd wedding anniversary, and what they really wanted to do was give away wedding photography. They hadn’t been able to afford professional photography at their own wedding, and they wanted to pay it forward. The shoot was supposed to take place in the New York City area, but a reader (who was planning her own wedding), stepped forward and asked if she could fly them to Ohio, for her baby sister’s wedding. And this is what happened, in Alex’s words:

Natalia and I had a wonderful time in Ohio photographing Kate and Joe’s wedding. We got to Columbus the night before the wedding, Immediately upon our arrival, we were picked up by Judy straight from the airport to a family cookout at the home of Kate’s parents, where we got to meet the entire clan.  Nicer people are really hard to find!  It was really incredible how comfortable we felt around everyone and how warmly we were treated.  It was a really gratifying experience and we were extremely happy with how the whole giveaway worked out.

Plus, ready for this? The APW reader, Judy, who paid to fly them to Ohio for her sisters wedding? They are now shooting her wedding in the fall. Cheers for Team Practical! And with that, go look at Fedorov Foto, affordable wedding photography in New York City. Affordable, talented, and kind. The kind part might actually be the most important.

  • Class of 1980

    I like those pictures!

  • Alex and Natalia were incredible for my little sister’s wedding! I still can’t get over the fact that she was able to have such amazing photos for her wedding that was almost undocumented. They were very professional but so kind and generous that they felt like family after a few hours. My sister loved her pictures and my fiance’ and I loved them so much that we booked them for our wedding this May. It was important to us to have a relationship with the people we were working with. We’re excited to work with them again and my family couldn’t be more thrilled! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer.

Speaking as the little sister, I could not believe how blessed my husband I were by Alex and Natalia sharing their gift with us. It was such a special thing to marry the man I loved and I was determined to do it with or without what I had deemed to expensive to be necessary.Only after meeting Alex and Natalia and seeing our photos was I just overwhelmed by how much they had given us in a way to remember the best day of our lives! We can’t wait to see them again and think that EVERYONE who wants to have amazing, talented friends capture their moments should use them!

I think a thank you is in order for APW. You influenced me on two of the best decisions I’ve made. First, hiring Alex Fedorov. I couldn’t have asked for a more talented photographer at a such a great price for NYC. He is so easy to work with and has been so accommodating to our changing plans. I did A LOT of research before hiring a photographer and am so pleased with the moments he captured. We will treasure the pictures for the rest of our lives, and it is so nice to be able to share them with all of our friends and family. Second, after reading this post http://apracticalwedding.com/2010/10/wedding-graduates-nina-richie-elope/ we decided to elope. I felt like Nina & Richie were writing our story. We had originally planned a May 2011 wedding, but when our plans started to go awry, we decided to elope to elope to City Hall just before Christmas. (That’s us above.. in front of the Brooklyn Bridge and on the green couch). My sister was the witness and the only person that knew. On Christmas Eve, we shared the news with our families all together. It turned a stressful situation fun again, and we couldn’t be happier.

I looked for a ton of photographers for my upcoming wedding, but my fiance and I were so excited when we happened upon Alex. I’m so looking forward to working with him – he’s such a great guy, full of great ideas and humor.

  • I booked Fedorov Foto after finding them on APW and it was truly a Godsend! Alex, Natalia, and Miriam are very professional, very patient, and VERY TALENTED. You would be lucky to have him free and available to do your engagement pictures, wedding, family portraits, whatever. Everyone who came into contact with him at our wedding loved him and more than that love our photos!

The best decision I made was deciding to work with Fedorov Foto. Before I found FF I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to get good pictures because I could not pay 5000+ for a photographer but not only did I get a STEAL of a price, I got photos that look better than the expensive photographers I had pined over. From start to finish it was a true pleasure to work with them and our engagement pictures and wedding pictures are absolutely fabulous. Hire him and be sure that one thing you can definitely cross off your list and not have to worry about is great pictures and a great experience.

Thank you APW for hooking us up!!!!! xoxoxo Faye and Amiyr

  • Hi Everyone!

Thank you all so much for your kind words. All our previous brides – you ladies are AWESOME for posting…and just plain AWESOME :). And we can’t wait to work with our future brides.

also as a big NOTE: Alex and I have discovered tonight that the Contact Me form on his website has been down since February 1st (totally SUCKS, we know) but luckily, we have managed to retrieve the contact submissions that came in and are doing our best to get back to everyone as soon as possible. If you tried contacting us, the message probably told you that you did so successfully, but alas….we never saw it until 5 minutes ago…

The problems seems to have been fixed, so feel free to resubmit your email to us as a precaution if you don’t hear from us in a day or two.

Thank you so much for your patience and Alex will be getting in touch with you soon!!!!!!!
