Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
As a photographer, businesswoman, and human being, I want the same things that the APW couples want—I want the experiences, the conversations, and the expectations to be real and genuine. Ultimately, I feel like I already have a connection with A Practical Wedding couples because they are a part of something that I love and value too, and in that way, our real and genuine dialogue has already begun.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
My artistic approach to weddings is to constantly stay alert and observant both mentally and visually. To be a part of a wedding through photography feels so incredibly sacred to me, that a lot of what I do with my camera comes after I process the moment that is in front of me. To take beautiful and creative photographs of life unfolding without interrupting it is always my main objective, and it takes two parts of my awareness.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
When I am not working, I like to still be creating. From sewing to painting to writing, I like to keep busy with ideas and new projects. And when I am not creating, I am almost always being a dork: watching Law and Order on TV, watching a movie + critiquing it for hours on end with my husband, or just bouncing around the house trying to get my dog and cat to be best friends.
What’s your favorite movie?
I have so many favorite movies, but the one that is held dearest to my heart is “The Wizard of Oz”. Whimsical in its story and visuals, this film is just such a classic and the importance of home and family has always resonated with me personally.
