Travel PolicyNo stress travel fees. I like to keep things super easy for you and for me, so travel is included in my rates.
Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.
I like to take as much cheese out of wedding photography as possible. Focusing on the real moments, my goal is to help you remember what your wedding day felt like when you look at your photos later on, not just what it looked like. On your wedding day, I truly believe that the people and relationships that surround you are the most important thing, so I put a strong emphasis on capturing the spirit of that in an artistic way.
Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
You guys are truly the best.
APW talks a lot about ditching tradition for tradition’s sake and doing what makes sense to YOU. That’s the stuff I live for. Doing things because they make sense to you, and not because it’s what’s expected. That’s the stuff that gives me butterflies and feeds my creative spirit. Seeing people live their lives on their own terms is why I get out of bed in the morning and hustle every day. I want to be a part of that.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
I have a two part approach. Most of the day, I like to artfully document moments as they naturally unfold in front of me. Then, when it comes time for the portraits, I’ll put you in some great light before I gently guide you so that your photos look as natural as possible and never stiff or cliché.
Love your lover and I’ll photograph that. Feel every moment of this fleeting day and soak it all in, because as cliché as it sounds, this really is an incredible day where you’re going to be surrounded and overwhelmed by love and well, what other opportunities in life do you have to feel like that? I’ll give you a lot of support and encouragement and guidance when you need it, but the most important thing for me is that you enjoy the heck out of your wedding day while I photograph you enjoying it. That’s a “formula” for natural story-telling images if there ever was one.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
Travel, reading photography books, going to museums, going to improv comedy shows (my husband is an improvisor – think Whose Line is it Anyway?)
What’s your favorite movie?
Hands down About Time, with Labyrinth, Across the Universe and Forrest Gump as runners-up.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games by Of Montreal
