Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

Because I want to work with couples who aren't planning their wedding using a checklist from a bride's magazine, but are being a little more creative in their approach. Weddings should be a reflection of the couple, so it should be a unique celebration full of details specific to them. I love shooting all types of weddings, it could be in a mowed out field in the middle of the country, or at the top of a high rise in Chicago...as long as it is your perfect wedding, that is what gets me excited!

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

I see weddings as an extension of the couple's love story/life together, and I photograph each wedding day keeping that in mind. I use photographs to help tell that story.

Stylistically my images are more traditional in terms of editing, I try to steer clear of editing trends that could date your wedding photos because I think wedding photos should be timeless. Instead, I put my creativity into using light and poses and capturing details in a unique way that makes my images artistic and unique.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I'm an avid reader, mostly fiction because its more fun for me.
I love to cook and do cook dinner lots of nights (when its not wedding season, of course).
Travelling will always be a passion of mine, I can't get enough of new places and people and culture.

What's your favorite book?

Beach Music, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Mark of the Lion Trilogy, Travelling Mercies, and As the Crow Flies.

What's your favorite movie?

While You Were Sleeping, The Mirror Has Two Faces, Dan In Real Life, The First Wive's Club (to name a few)
