Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I am excited to work with APW couples because despite having 1000+ unread blogs in my reader and stacks of wedding magazines on my desk I always find time to keep up with the APW blog posts! I feel like I connect with the APW community which is fantastic since so much of being a vendor is keeping up on wedding trends and style. It’s great to have a place which is so much more than just wedding and style “research”. I absolutely adore designing wedding invitations and all things paper and I love working with couples who want to explore fun colors, playful wording, and different materials.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
My designs range from traditional classic invitations through modern playful ones. I’m naturally drawn to weddings that are colorful, bright, and modern and I think many of my designs reflect that. I come from a background in architecture and that influences the way that I approach my designs. I love bold typography, graphic line-work & patterns, and have a huge appreciation for the “negative space” of a clean simple invite!
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
If I could find a way to spend every waking moment traveling the world I would! I love finding time to step away from it all to explore the great outdoors. I’ve just started a (possibly life-long) hobby of visiting every US National Park, and I’m at nearly 10 just this year! Since I have yet to discover a pot of gold to fund my travels I’ve also adopted a less expensive food hobby (cooking, photography, and someday growing) as well!
What’s your favorite movie?
A Princess Bride. I promise this is absolutely NOT because I’m a wedding vendor. I just truly love the movie for it’s utterly classic gooberness!
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
Do I have to select just one song…? Or should I just admit that one minute dance parties at my desk are a common multi-song occurrence!
