Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

I love how APW couples cut through the crap and get to what really matters. I love their practicality, their thoughtfulness, and the fact that they often come with a fun, crafty, DIY bent. I love their quirky/crazy/geeky weddings that are meaningful and personal. I love that they value the candid, emotional moments over posed and staged artifice.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

Friendly, casual, respectful, and relaxed. I want your wedding to be about you as a couple, not about me; and I want your wedding photos to beĀ real. As a documentary photographer, I'll look for joyous moments, real emotions, happy faces, and quirky details to create a full and authentic record of your celebration. My images are simple, honest, and unpretentious. My goal is to document your love, your community, and your joy, and to create your first family heirloom. And we'll probably laugh a lot, too!

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I live the quiet life! Knitting; running; trying to learn to play my guitar; pretending like my cats understand or care about my conversations with them; eating all the things; laughing maniacally at Craig Ferguson with my partner; and having tiny, manageable adventures.

What's your favorite book?

I used to be a librarian, so... I love Jane Austen, Margaret Atwood, "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle," Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, "Alice in Wonderland," and "Le Petit Prince," but these days I find I'm mostly reading non-fiction.

What's your favorite movie?

Clue.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

The theme song to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Kickass, energetic, nostalgia-inducing, and precisely 60 seconds long.
