Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I love that APW couples are just like me. APW was a HUGE resource when I was planning my wedding in 2009 and I feel like they totally get me and my style!
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
This year (2013) I am celebrating 10 years of shooting weddings and in that time I have seen many trends come and go. I have always taken a relaxed and unobtrusive approach to the weddings I photograph. I am a pretty low key person and love to really get to know my clients as friends. I feel that the connection I have with my couples lends to a wedding day that is more relaxed, comfortable and the pictures are much more intimate.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
Reading, gaming, cooking, going to the gym, catching up with my DVR and loving on my husband & kids.
What’s your favorite book?
I love the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I also adore the Hunger Games Trilogy and all things Harry Potter. I don’t get to read as much as I would like now that I have two tiny people underfoot.
What’s your favorite movie?
Of all time? Well that would probably be Dirty Dancing.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
This changes all the time but for something new it would be Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Going classic, it has to be Push It by Salt-n-Pepa.
Explain your travel policy:
Wedding packages include up to 90 miles from my home (zip 22025 – which tends to almost stretch from Richmond, VA to Baltimore, MD). Additional mileage is calculated at the standard rate as determined by the IRS for the applicable year. For weddings that are more than 90 miles one way, overnight accommodations may be required. For weddings over 240 miles away, airfare, lodging and rental car may be required.
I offer ridiculously discounted travel rates to the following metro areas: Philadelphia, NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Toledo, Southern California, and most of the state of Florida. Please email me for more information.
