Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

In my experience, APW couples just *get* it. They know that their wedding won’t make their marriage. I think in a lot of ways this lets them have more fun than the average couple, and I get to see and photograph my favorite thing: real, true emotion and love.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

I’m constantly thinking about the narrative to the day, which affects every picture I take. I like to be unobtrusive and work from an observational standpoint. At the same time, I’m happy to work with folks who may feel less comfortable in front of the camera and want more direction. For me, it’s all about creating an environment in which the couple is comfortable, because that’s when I know I’ll get the best images.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I’m addicted to knitting, and love to read. Traveling is also a serious hobby. I was raised by parents with some strong nomadic tendencies, and I tend to get restless if I don’t get out of the country every so often.

What’s your favorite book?

How could I name just one? I’m a Margaret Atwood superfan, a Tom Robbins aficionado, lover of 19th century Brit. Lit., and I mix it up with some political non-fiction.

What’s your favorite movie?

Have they ever done better than the ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy?

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

Anything from ‘Off the Wall’ by Michael Jackson.
