Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I want to work with APW Couples because they tend to be more open-minded and, well, practical. I’m just a regular gal who loves bringing weddings to life. I’d like to make a bit of a living too, but I know you’re probably not a millionaire either. The APW community already understands this and is already ready to move forward in the best way possible. I also love that APW Couples are often hands-on. As a planner, I may work for you, but it’s so much better when I work with you!
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
As a dancer, I definitely appreciate aesthetically pleasing events. But I’m also aware that a beautiful performance is not just one that looks pretty and is technically sound, it has to be meaningful to the dancers/choreographers involved. Similarly for weddings, I like to start with the couple; finding out who they are, what they like to do, and what holds special meaning to them. Let all their ideas flow, highlight the moments that seem the most poignant, and choreograph it into a single day/weekend. Also, being an island just doesn’t work. I often like to pick my friends’ brains for cool new ideas. We’re all very DIY, arts and crafts types, so we’re always on the look out for fun new projects!
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
I’m an absolute bookworm; pretty much wanted to be an author when I was growing up. I’m also a salsa dancer extraordinaire but I love learning all types of dance!
What’s your favorite book?
The Count of Monte Cristo. Vengeance, redemption, love; it has it all!
What’s your favorite movie?
I’m actually not a big movie watcher, to the chagrin of my 80s-movies-obsessed significant other. But I do watch A LOT of TV, my current favorite is BBC’s Sherlock.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
Seriously, anything by Adam Lambert is awesome to move to.
