Wow WOW! Can't say fully how happy I am looking at these! Chris and I agree that this is the first time since our wedding that we really remember how it felt that day. It went by like a blur. I realized during that day that at times, the intimacy (small size) of the space and some of the lighting made it difficult to take photos, but you did a beautiful job capturing it all. There are so many great little moments and expressions here. Again, can't say enough how pleased we are. Your photos are beautiful and you were great to have around for the wedding and engagement photo days. I hope you have many lovely wedding seasons ahead!
Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I’ve met so many wonderful clients as well as friends through the site. APW attracts a very diverse community of people, and I think the balance of tradition and open mindedness suits my work and ethos. I was even a reader while planning my own wedding.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
Cinematic, in the moment, and very interested in people. I use a mix of available light as well as flash and I like to work with a mix of film and digital cameras. Weddings require an ability to move and think quickly and be completely absorbed in what is happening around you and I love that. I also am very good at feeling at home in many different settings and relating to different types of people, I love how weddings create an opportunity to experience new communities of people. Each wedding is a new world to explore.
I’m more of an observer than a director and I try to create imagery that transcends trends. As the recipient of a BA in fine art photography, I had the opportunity to develop a personal vision and voice before ever looking at wedding blogs and wedding photography. That vision has always been informed by my interest in cinematography, people and stories, and continue to evolve as I collaborate with couples in shooting both engagement portrait sessions and weddings.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
School, taking classes in photography, film, & psychoanalysis. Traveling to Texas often to visit my five nieces and nephews and of course, photograph them.
