Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

After spending hours and hours reading APW posts, laughing, crying, and learning so many life lessons, I’m certain that anyone who feels like a part of this community is the kind of person whose wedding we want to be a part of. We want to take photos of and be friends with people who believe that weddings are for celebrating with the people that matter to you and know that the APW community is made up of exactly those kinds of people.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

The first thing we always try to do is connect with our clients through pre-wedding meetings and our included engagement session. We know that having 900 pictures taken of you is awkward and think getting to know you first is the most important part of making sure you’re comfortable and getting the most genuine pictures at your wedding. When we’re a part of your wedding day we want to be part of the joy that unfolds, always looking out for people having a good time, working hard to capture the spirit of the day & of your new marriage. Of course we take formal photos but we love candid pictures best and put a lot of energy into finding the little moments that will remind you of the spirit of the day.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

We’re a team of two. Jay loves trying out new gadgets, doing really long and complicated math problems, and cooking mouthwatering dinners for me (Allie). I spend my free time reading as many books as possible and shopping at thrift stores on half-off day.

What’s your favorite book?

Jay loves The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I like East of Eden best. Deep down we both think Harry Potter 7 is basically the best book ever written.

What’s your favorite movie?

Casablanca & When Harry Met Sally. Watch them one after the other at least 3 times a year.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. I’m not a very good dancer.
