Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

When you invite a photographer to your wedding you’re giving them a VIP pass to some of the most intimate moments of your life. We’d love to be given that honor for an APW couple’s wedding because to us, nothing is more special than a couple that truly believes in the meaning of a wedding. We adore emotion-filled ceremonies, sweet details and rocking parties but most of all we love witnessing and capturing the love a couple shares.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

Together we work to build a relationship with our couples before, during and after their events to ensure a pleasant experience. Our new friendship lends well to our style as we approach weddings with a modern photojournalistic sense. When we’re in the thick of it we prefer to watch and capture the raw emotions as they unravel. There’s less worrying about the camera and more focus on the events of the day.

We blend natural light, flash and studio lighting into our style. It is with this knowledge and combination that we are able to easily and efficiently incorporate fun formal photographs into a wedding day. As much as we love shooting candidly we’re honestly pretty nerdy when it comes to photography so we enjoy the chance to set up and create artistic impressions for our couples.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

Tim enjoys traveling and seeing new places. He’ll jump at most any opportunity to visit somewhere he hasn’t before. Tim’s also a self proclaimed foodie. Trying new foods is one of his favorite ways to experience new regions and cultures. He also enjoys working on his Subaru SVX, a limited production sports coupe from the 90s.
Ashley loves crafting anything from jewelry to clothing and enjoys others crafts as well. She also loves collecting so you’ll loose her easily at a craft fair or flea market if you’re not watching. She’s acquired a rather large collection of pint glasses from pubs and microbreweries she’s visited because she’s also a bit of a beer connoisseur (read as: beer snob).

What’s your favorite book?

Tim’s favorite book would have to be The Lovely Bones. While more of a sad connotation being that the main character is a ghost, it does portray looking into world from the outside. It reminds him that perception is what you make of it, and while the character wasn’t able to make any changes, it’s a lesson that we have the ability to shape our lives and to not take opportunities for granted.
Ashley loves the Harry Potter series and she won’t deny it! She can read the books again and again and still feel as excited as the first time. The author, J.K. Rowling, put so much effort and detail into her writing and that’s something Ashley respects. Her favorite characters? Fred and George Weasley.

What’s your favorite movie?

Tim’s favorite movie would have to be part of the Back to the Future series. The movie portrays the 80s, 50s and up to 2015 so to him it’s a nice reminder that times fly before you know it.
Ashley will admit that she’s not much of a movie buff but makes it a point to watch The Sound of Music with her mother once a year. They’re not really sure how but it became a meaningful tradition for them.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

A minute isn’t nearly a long enough dance party for Tim and Ashley. At Tim’s desk you’d hear something from the 80s or 90s that would make you want to join right in. “The Power of Love” from Huey Lewis & the News perhaps? There’s a good chance Ashley would be shaking her booty to “Hey My Love” from NYC artist Dion Roy. She can’t seem to get enough of of that song lately.
