Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

The short answer is because they’re awesome. Coincidentally, the long answer is also because they’re awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever met a more open-minded and big-hearted group of individuals. The amount of love that simple pours out of the people of APW is outstanding, and every couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with has been absolutely fantastic. They’re a laidback bunch, who know what’s important and what’s not, and they’re SO much fun to work with.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

I’m all about the candid shots and what I like to call un-posing. The realness of moments and the swiftness of emotions are my favorite things to capture on a wedding dat, so I strive to blend in enough to make people relax and let those come out. I strive for minimal edits, preferring a clean, warm, and slightly vintage look {inspired by Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell}. Soft, loving moments that are real, not stiff, posed ones. My couples know that I’d take a bullet for them, and that if I ask them to do something completely strange, it’s for a reason, and that reason is that it’ll turn out SO COOL.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I read – A TON – I write, which I’m getting back into recently. I act, sing, bake, hike, play D&D, cosplay; pretty much any and everything. I’m a dork about more things than I could name, really.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

At the moment, I’m incredibly into Matchbox Twenty’s latest album, North, which is amazing and beautiful. But my #1 dance song right now? Marina & the Diamonds: How to Be a Heartbreaker.
