What we loved about this venue:
The gardens are gorgeous. It’s also really affordable. The outside gardens are free to the public; it’s a place I’m happy to support.
Tips for working successfully with this site:
Sign up early to make sure you get the date that you want. We lucked out and were able to get an August date. (14 months in advance, it was one of two summer dates left.)
The drawbacks of this venue were:
The reception hall has local art on the walls that you can’t take down, which means you’re somewhat at the mercy of others when it comes to decorating. It’s also state-run (which I like), but if you’re looking for a “wedding planner” fawning experience, it may not be the place for you.
