Words, Delicious

I’m delighted to tell you that starting next week the fabulous Amanda of First Milk will be doing a series of guest posts on ‘words to read at your wedding.’ If you read Amanda’s blog, you’ll know that she uses words with grace and precision, like she has a personal love affair with each one. Because of this, I asked Amanda if she would pick some readings that would work for weddings. I think we can all agree that First Corinthians, while (achem) classic, is perhaps a *tad* over used. I know that many of you, like us, are casting a wide net, and trying to figure out some interesting and evocative readings to use for your ceremony.

One of the things that I hate most about most wedding resources is that they read like they have been written for an exceedingly dull seventh grader (wedding magazines, I’m looking at you). So, in collecting these readings, we didn’t go easy on you. We kept in mind that Team Practical is a collection of bright and well educated individuals who just happen to be getting married. I hope that this collection of words challenges you and makes you think. And most of all, I hope you find something in it that speaks to you.

Amanda is doing three posts, on the first day of the next three weeks. Stay tuned for Tuesday. And Amanda, welcome!
