APW Reader Playlist: Alison and Ken’s Jewish-Italian Acoustic-Ska Love-Fest Wedding

Alison & Ken *

One sentence sum up of your wedding’s vibe: Our wedding was termed the “Jewish-Italian wedding in Amish country,” and combined our favorite people, food, and music to create a day that was so full of love and laughter that our faces hurt from smiling all day.

I just wanna say that I am SO in love with all these APW playlists… I follow Maddie on 8tracks and now I always have tons of rad playlists (with no commercials!!).

Thank you so much for these!!!

Random, but a neat coincidence — Kina Grannis was on my floor in my dorm freshman year of college. I remember her having her door open, her playing her guitar a bunch and my being generally awed by her talent. So funny and cool that her music is out in the world and being played at people’s weddings :)

    • Emily

I love her cover songs! :)

I am also REALLY into these playlist posts and am excited to share ours after the wedding in December. We’re music people and are planning to have a 16-piece big band playing for part of the reception.

  • That sounds like the soundtrack to an awesome dance party! I love, love, love Ingrid Michaelson.

  • Just a lurker

Hi, I love the playlist posts, but is there any way to disable the fact that they start playing automatically when I go to the APW homepage? I’m a pre-engaged gal with a work desk in a visible area, so I check APW on my phone… It’s a lot less stealthy when music starts playing. Thanks’

    • Caroline

Yeah, I was just coming here to post this. It’s kind of an issue when music starts auto playing when I go to the APW homepage. While I like this feature, the auto-play is enough to make me hate it. If you could make the music not-auto play, that would be awesome. (Could you maybe hide the player below the break? Would that do it? If I click on the playlist post, I’m ok although not thrilled with autopsy, but it’s a problem on the homepage.)

I love seeing Your Personal Penguin on here! I found the book at a friend’s house and googled it to find the song, and I love it! I love penguins, and the song is all about love, so its great!
I’m loving the Michael Buble as well!

MAGNIFICENT AS YOUR WALK-IN MUSIC?! You guys are one of the most fantastic couples ever now.

    A U2 Fanatic

    • Haha, thanks! That was all Ken. He has great taste. :)

  • We had “Magnificent” as our entrance song and I still get chills when I hear it. The rest of this playlist rocks, too!
