Hey Apw,
You know how everyone says that four-day weeks are the most intense? I’m going to argue that the week after a short week is what really packs it in. As you may have gleaned from the past few happy hours, the APW staff has been doing its damndest to nail that work/life balance thing I keep hearing about. (Nobody warns you that working from home means you live at your office. Whoops.) But this week was a blessed reminder of all the good things that come from working on a small team run by human beings. Like getting to hang out in a cool co-working space that doesn’t resemble your investment bank job even a little bit (Meg, as seen above). Or having your boss invite you over for dinner when your husband is out of town, so that you’re not alone on a pony farm in the boonies with no one to talk to but your dog (Me).
In the meantime, someone’s husband isn’t coming home from his business trip until next week. So this weekend is all about marathons of Project Runway and Pretty Little Liars (as if it would ever be anything else). But for now, it’s your open thread, so hop on it!
Cheers,
maddie
