APW Happy Hour

It's grown-up-task check in time! How did you do?

Hey Apw,

Meg is out sick as I write this, so I thought I’d take Happy Hour as an opportunity to check in at the end of Growing Up month and see where everyone’s at. Michael and I celebrated our five-year anniversary at a friend’s wedding in Toronto last weekend, and it was the first marriage anniversary yet where I felt like real-life grown-up married people. My feelings echoed a lot of the sentiment I’ve been hearing this month, which is that adulthood is more of an internal shift than an external one. Sure we don’t have a house, or kids, and we’ve had pizza for dinner twice this week (it was Organic, does that count for something?), but we’re not the kids we were when we met a dozen years ago. It’s weird and exciting at the same time. If nothing else, it just feels less… fraught. What about you guys?

And now, I’m off to shoot my last wedding of the season (possibly ever?). But in the meantime, it’s your open thread, so hop on it!

Cheers,
Maddie
