Pumpkins!

Hey Apw,

So first, big news! 2013 Writing Intern, and current APW contributor Rachel has been named BuzzFeed’s Senior Lifestyle Editor. HUGE FUCKING NEWS, amiright? Some of you who follow Rachel might have seen this on her blog/ social media already, but today happens to be the end of her last day at her old job, and she’s flying to NYC to start her new job on Sunday. Because yes, she’s moving to New York! She asked that we hold off till today to share the news, so she could have a happy hour toast with her APW friends. (I’m pretty sure she’s about to pour a real live celebratory drink.) For those of you inspired by Rachel’s rocket ride trajectory over the past two years, we’re opening applications for 2015 writing interns next week. Rachel thinks you should apply.

As for me, I had a week of a lot of meetings and frantic writing… and then ended it with a toddler in ER at two AM. Everything is fine here, but MAN, baby asthma. In other news, we also had our first field trip, and the kid ran through the pumpkin patch yelling, “Pumpkin! Pumpkin! Pumpkinpumkinpumkin! Pumpkin!” So it all evens out.

Speaking of, time to get cracking on last year’s pumpkin centerpiece.

Take it to the chorus…

Cheers,
meg
