Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.
I shoot in a documentary style. . . focusing on creating images that reflect the personalities around me, the true events and emotions of the day with as little interruption from me as possible. I shoot with film cameras and digital cameras at most weddings. Why film? Film photography inspires me, keeps me motivated, and produces beautiful images.
Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I was in the same position, in 2014, as most people are coming to this site: trying to plan an aesthetically pleasing, badass, memorable wedding on a practical budget. I want to be able to offer beautiful, quality photography at a reasonable price like I was looking for and found! We all deserve that! I particularly LOVE the mission of APW and have been thirsting to incorporate these ideals into my business as I do in other parts of my life.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
I let the people and the light around me dictate how I shoot for the day, with minimal interruption from me. Weddings are a blast and I thoroughly enjoy working to capture every moment I can.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
Photography makes its way into all I do, it’s hard to separate my work and life. BUT: Music history, keeping up with what’s going on in this world (social issues, art, trash TV), loving on my pitbull mix with my husband, beautifying my home, healthy eating and wine drinking are all good.
What’s your favorite book?
Mary Roach - Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void
What’s your favorite movie?
Favorite!? AH! Top three: The Graduate (total cinematic eye-candy), Amadeus and, as of late, We Are The Best (Those girls make me want to redo middle school... then I go play my husbands drums).
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
2017 started off with The Avalanches - Because I'm Me AND Frank Sinatra - Mood Indigo. I'll dance to both.
