Corey Torpie Photography
The best thing about Corey shooting your wedding day, is that she will find the moments you never knew existed or didn't expect to ever be captured on film. The majority of wedding photos stale over time; Corey's are the type that only improve every time you look at them.

Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.
I’m a photographer who loves candid moments and telling the story of wedding days. I watch for the small moments and love being in the middle of chaotic, high energy celebrations.
Why do you want to work with APW couples?
Weddings should be as fun and stress free as possible. So while I take what I do very seriously, I love working with couples that recognize that their wedding is all about each other, friends and family, and an open bar complemented by a bangin’ wedding cake (or cupcakes, I won’t judge – just save me some).
APW is all about resources for couples that can have a sense of humor alongside a strong and unique vision for what they want out of their day. And that always equals great pictures.
What is your artistic approach to weddings?
My goal is capturing the story of the day. I’m just as interested in showcasing small subtle moments and quirky personal details, as I am with documenting the big showstoppers. I have a background in photojournalism, and I use that to not only inform my style, but to make sure that I’m never in the way and interfering with what’s happening around me – while always making sure that I get the shots that matter most.
I want couples to be able to look back at their wedding photos and be able to recall all the awesome they felt
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
I wish I could say that I love making paper mache replicas of world heritage sites but what I really like is winding down with some Indian food delivery and British TV on Netflix. Somewhat unrelated, but I am amassing a pretty cool collection of vintage cameras too.
What's your favorite book?
Hands down, it’s Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.
What's your favorite movie?
The Warriors, or anything with zombies.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
Ok I’m gonna throw it back with this one… either Another Night by Real McCoy or Sell Out by Reel Big Fish
Five stars are not enough! Corey's photojournalist approach to wedding photography quickly caught my husband and I's attention and, once a year, Corey offers free high-quality wedding photography to a couple with a tight budget who give back to their communities. We still can't believe she chose us as the lucky 2017 recipients! From our first meeting, we felt at ease with Corey. She answered all our questions, provided practical tips to prepare for the day, and was very responsive to all our communications, pre and post wedding. On the wedding day, she made us feel so comfortable that any jitters we had about being photographed, quickly went away. Our bridal party still talks about how warm and lovely it was to have her around. As for the pictures, I spent many hours on her blog and Instagram and loved how different it felt from other wedding photographers. She captured all the formal posed pictures, little details of the church and venue, guest pictures during cocktail hour, and so many wonderful candids through out the day. Corey has an amazing ability to capture and edit pictures that convey emotions and a story. Would highly recommend!
