Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.
I'm a queer-owned photography and videography business who works to create truthful, emotive images that will last far beyond this era of pinterest and instagram trends.
Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I think APW readers see through the peripheral nonsense that the wedding industry often pushes onto us, and instead prioritize relationships and creating a day that truly reflects them and their community. I want to work with APW couples because I'm excited about creating a shift in the industry away from trends and "looking cool" and towards truth, genuine storytelling, and creating images that will show future generations who you truly were.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
I'm a firm believer that if you feel uncomfortable with your photographer and/or the "poses" they put you in, then you will remember that discomfort as you look at the photograph, no matter how objectively beautiful it may be! If you are elated, laughing and giddy all day long, I promise I won't portray you as serious and moody!
My work is photojournalistic, and somewhat anthropological in approach. I want you to feel comfortable and be able to focus on your love, your community, and the celebration. My goal is to give you back your memories, and let you re-live the truthful emotion and culture of your day as you look through your photographs.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
I'm a huge bookworm and true-crime documentary fan. I like scouring goodwill, collecting funky earrings, adding to my colorful cocktail goblet collection or matchbox collection, cooking for people, visiting new places with my girlfriend, and convincing my friends to let me do all of their floral arranging for them.
