Meigh helped us plan our dream wedding from start to finish. She got us immediately, respected our budget, and rolled with the many changes...Several people have told us it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to. All the credit goes to Meigh for making the magic happen.

Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.
Our motto is “love your wedding; ditch the crazy,” because we recognize that the important things about weddings – i.e. the actual wedding/love/forever part – can sometimes get lost in the complexities of planning a big event. We’re about creating authentic, joyous celebrations by crafting coherent event plans, handling last minute stresses, and working within a budget. We offer a variety of services, from by-the-hour consultation, to DIY floral and crafts, to full-service wedding planning, because we recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to weddings.
Why do you want to work with APW couples?
APW couples are always my favorites, because we already have a shared language of sorts (THE W.I.C. IS REAL!), and we have the same priorities for what makes a great wedding. They’re always ready to get right to work on creating a sane, affordable event that runs smoothly and is also a kick-ass time for all involved. From the first email I can always tell that an APW couple is going to bring the fun.
What is your artistic approach to weddings?
My approach is always client driven; we don’t do cookie-cutter here. I’m here to Make Things Happen, but what those things are is always up to the couple and reflects their voice, not mine. I love coming up with a custom DIY project, or helping streamline a disjointed Pinterest board and a bunch of magazine clippings into realizable elements. From a design standpoint, hearing “that’s so them” is the greatest compliment I can receive.
And the thing is, I just really love me a wedding. (Seriously. I wrote my Master’s thesis on wedding traditions.) If you’re looking for somebody who will climb a 15-foot ladder in heels to hang décor or bust out the pliers to zip up a stubborn dress, I am your girl. I am passionate about creating events for my clients that showcase the best parts of their love, keeping things fun, creative, and most importantly sane and budget-friendly.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
When I’m not toddler wrangling (my Intern is a year old; in retrospect maybe not my best hiring decision, but she’s super cute.) I’m probably at my sewing machine and/or singing at inappropriate volume.
What's your favorite book?
“Stardust” by Neil Gaiman – the Charles Vess illustrated version. So gorgeous.
What's your favorite movie?
“A Philadelphia Story” because Katherine Hepburn being sassy in pants is always a delight.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
Like the rest of the nation right now, probably the Hamilton soundtrack.

Pros
About a year before my wedding I was in a eclectic shop in DC, chatting with the owner about these camera stamps she had and how I was planning a wedding. During our conversation she gave me the card of her friend who was a wedding coordinator and I put the card in my wallet. A few weeks later I was reading a review for a planner on Off Beat Bride and knew I needed to meet her. I couldn't pin why the name was so familiar until I took the card out of my wallet and saw that I'd been recommended LulaMae already! Serendipity! Working with Meigh was great! She answered all of our questions, (and believe me we had a lot), dealt with both our mothers, wedding party, and all our vendors. She was truly the person I needed on my team. We needed to find a vendor that we felt comfortable interacting with my guests who were a diverse group of cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender expressions and Meigh left us feeling at ease. It also helped that she was nerdy af and so were we! Meigh met with us to get out vision of the day, came up with our timeline (even making amendments the day before), coordinated with all our vendors, and helped take so much off our plates. When we got to the venue, everything was arranged just how we wanted, and I didn't have to worry about the rest of the day going off without a hitch. Meigh was fantastic and I'd hire here for any future events if the need arises.
