I cannot quite put into words how amazing Elizabeth is, but I will give it a shot. We started out not really wanting to have a big to-do wedding and were just gonna go to the courthouse with our parents. Slowly but surely, more and more of our family members got involved with wanting to be there so we decided to do a small backyard ceremony instead. We were so nervous about who we could find to marry us that would make our ceremony sweet and fun and really reflect our personalities. Since our first email exchange I knew that she was the one! Elizabeth is helpful and sweet and so witty! She really guided us to find the perfect words to express how we feel about each other in front of the most important people in our lives. She has a way of getting to know you as a couple and finding out exactly what your vision for your nuptials are and forming to that. While we were up there, it felt very comfortable and natural, there wasn't a dry eye in the house! I am so happy that we changed our original plan and were able to share that moment together. It was truly the best day of my life! You can see more reviews here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/marriage-to-go-santa-monica

Why do you want to work with APW couples?
I like best working with couples that are intelligent, collaborative, realistic but imaginative, and those who value the ceremony as an important part of their wedding day. I’m a true believer in the healing and transformative power of love, and always appreciate clients who are the same.
What is your artistic approach to weddings?
It’s all about you! I listen to your needs, beliefs, and style, and we go from there. I have a huge archive you can draw from for quick turnaround, I create original materials and unique rituals, and I help you create your own texts and vows in a way that will help you more deeply appreciate your partner and this relationship you share. I want each wedding, large or small, to strike a chord in each person in attendance (even if it’s just us).
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
All my hobbies are work-related! I have an organic butterfly habitat where occasionally I host an elopement (when I’ve had time to hack back the vines and overgrown herbiage); I read a lot of books on the history and sociology of weddings and marriage; I am trained as a volunteer emergency responder and disaster-preparedness ambassador for the City of L.A., which you’d think doesn’t relate a lot to weddings but you’d be surprised how often the knowledge has come in handy (e.g. I’ve helped people deal with heat exhaustion at weddings a few times, and I almost always have Band-Aids in my purse).
I dance a little, ride my bike a little, do some yoga here, volunteer a little there, and oh yeah: I conduct a few hundred civil weddings a year for the L.A. County Clerk’s office, also as a volunteer. I like to travel, check out local wedding sites and purveyors, and hang out with my lovely husband so I can remember what my job is all about.
What's your favorite book?
Any book that makes my neurons fire with excitement for a while after I’ve read it. There have been a few. I read a lot of non-fiction for research and intellectual stim, so fiction and poetry are my sweet treats. I occasionally read genre fiction and hang out with many hardcore fans of geekery both old and new, so I may be familiar with whatever nerdy literature niche you identify with.
What's your favorite movie?
As an adult…probably “Wings of Desire.” I can’t see ya, but I know you’re here.
