My husband and I hired Erin to shoot our wedding in a rural / golden hills part of California. We had found her portfolio online and were instantly drawn to the way she captures people in their element. There's a sense of humor and ease about her work, which we love. It's not fussy (and Erin's not fussy!), and yet the images are beautifully rendered. Needless to say, the photos for our wedding came out amazing. The scenic images are truly incredible. Yes, the scenery was amazing all on its own, but Erin was able to frame things just right and get a dreamy sense of the washed out / sun-bleached hills. She also takes great people pics! There's so many good ones of our guests having fun, dancing, reacting to toasts. Even the family pics look great (a true accomplishment!). I don't understand how she's able to get so many perspectives, because I barely even noticed her moving around the crowd. We also loved Erin's no-nonsense demeanor. She gets to work right away and is immediately looking for angles, thinking about framing, testing the light. She works fast and isn't precious about things. That said, the portfolio she put together did not feel rushed at all. Rather, it's thoughtful, beautifully shot, and totally captures the narrative and feeling of the day. I would totally recommend her to anyone. We lucked out!

Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.

I work with a mix of digital and film cameras, and primarily use available light to create natural and beautiful images. I love capturing real expressions and the tiniest of details to help you remember the best moments of the day.

Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

Down to earth couples who don't follow wedding rules are my kind of people.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

I aim to capture the feeling of the day, and like to keep things as natural as possible.  I plan ahead to make sure the essentials are beautifully (and efficiently) captured, and have fun running around with my eyes open for the in-between moments that make each wedding unique.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

Outside of photographing for work, I photograph for fun!  I'm guilty of taking too many cameras on trips and enjoy everything from instagram to developing film in my kitchen sink.  I also enjoy camping, adding to my natural history collection and planning my next adventure.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
