Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.

A boutique event-planning business in the DC Metro area. Our approach to weddings is best reflected in our tagline: we get sh*t done.

Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

APW is a unique, exceptionally special community filled with thoughtful, smart, super-rad people. And I want thoughtful, smart, super-rad clients. APW consistently brings me the best clients who are a great match with me and my business - and that's a positive thing for everyone involved. Part of my motto when it comes to wedding planning is that you should work with vendors who make the experience of planning an event an enjoyable one - and that goes both ways. I, too, want to work with clients who make my job an enjoyable experience, and APWers always do that.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

I don’t really have an artistic approach because as a planner I am focused on the practical details. At The Plannery, there are no “shoulds” – we are here to support and nurture each unique client. We shoulder the stress and insanity so you can relax, enjoy, and party your ass off! Our business style reflects my Brooklyn background and my current Del Ray, Alexandria neighborhood –friendly, real, creative, and open-minded, where inspiration is more important than aspiration and where the priority is spending money in a smart and conscious way. Our approach to weddings is best reflected in our tagline: we get sh*t done.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

My husband is an amazing cook, so I love to eat. I enjoy staying at home and snuggling with my family (yes, I’m getting old). My background in planning comes from producing theatre, so I’m a big theater and musical-theater nerd. I also love reading, dancing, pop-culture, and planning vacations (often years in advance).

What’s your favorite book?

1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. After reading this book I started remembering my dreams for the first time, ever. And no, I'm not kidding. Weeeeooooooo.

What’s your favorite movie?

Singin' In The Rain (see non-work-related hobbies and musical nerdom, above)

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

Yeah by Usher
