Describe your business in 1-3 short sentences.

Yes, our job is to help with the organizing, helping to oversee set up, and managing the day’s timeline.  Yes, our job is to review contracts, ensure all the vendors are providing the services they committed to, and helping to find the perfect vendors. But really, our job is to help take on the stress you may feel from the planning so you can enjoy the process and, most importantly, the big day!

Why do you want to work with APW couples?

Your philosophy is my philosophy!! Unless you’re planning on following Emily Post’s guide to weddings, I think [virtually] anything goes and if I can help with putting your own spin on your special day, hurray!

What is your artistic approach to weddings?

I don’t think it’s my artistic approach; I try and take the couple’s artistic idea and run with that. If they’re doing a travel theme wedding, let’s use old suitcases to hold the escort cards! If they’re doing a food theme wedding, how about creating a picture book of your favorite foods for the guest book? I’d like to think that my approach is to take what they have in their heads and make it a reality.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I love music. For 20 + years I worked in music and saw live bands sometimes 5 or 6 times a week. Even now, it’s pretty difficult for me to work at my desk without music playing. Reggae, ska, new wave, and pop have proven to be good work background music, I often get caught dancing in my seat. Aside from that, I love going to the movies. My husband prefers the big blockbusters so it’s pretty common for me to go to indie and foreign films on my own (although going solo doesn’t keep me from getting the jumbo sized popcorn!). Otherwise, on down days, I can always be talked into going to a flea market but am just as happy sitting on the couch with the dogs, watching a “Law & Order” or “Modern Family” marathon

What's your favorite book?

Whew! That would be a ridiculously long list! I often go back and re-read “The Confederacy of Dunces” and “Geek Love”. I eat up Agatha Christie & Dick Francis mysteries and hate when the stories end. I can never go to a thrift store without going through the book section. It’s such a great way to try out new authors without spending a fortune. And, it’s recycling!!

What's your favorite movie?

I think we have to limit my favorite movie list as well! I love old Woody Allen movies – “Sleeper”, “Bananas”, “Take the Money and Run”, … “Harold & Maude” is always fun to watch as are “Grease”, “Hairspray”, and “The Jerk”. I seem to be drawn to a lot of old Dustin Hoffman movies as well – “Little Big Man”, “Tootsie”, “Papillon”, … I told you it was a long list!

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

That’s a really hard one but, as you’ve worded the question as a “dance party”, I would have to choose either a Jamiroquai or a Scissor Sisters song. Both those artists make it very difficult for me to stay seated. Oh, and don’t forget Abba …
