Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
APW couples are wonderful and we click instantly! They’re down to earth and are happy to have me there as their photographer and friend on the day of. I really love getting to know my couples and being able to call them friends not just clients. I will happily do anything for my friends and the same is true for my clients! And I love that it’s about a marriage, not a wedding.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
My approach is simple, I like to make things easy on the couples for their wedding day. I’m here as a wedding resource, and I’m not afraid to sew or lend you something you need because I’ve been there, I know how it gets, and I’m more than happy to help! My artistic philosophy focuses on the couple and their love on the wedding day. I aim to show each couple as they are, not someone who they’re not. It’s about their real love, not about what someone else thinks they should look like. And because of that, every wedding is different for me and so are the pictures! I encourage my couples to be themselves and have fun. I don’t mind if there’s a million details or none to photograph, I like that my couples can relax and be themselves and we can just have a fun time together and make it painless! I really enjoy being able to catch the moments in between and what you don’t think or remember happening. I love the small joys in life that you want to remember but don’t always when it’s a big day.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
I enjoy being outdoors but not in the camping variety! I like to sit in my backyard and watch my little boys run around and chase the dog! When I’m not playing mommy duty, I love to sew and create in general, I’ve always been a creative person (well except for writing, my writing is not my strong suit!). I love my two crazy boys and my rescue dog, Isabelle, she will lick your face if you meet her. I also love sharing photography with people. I’ve donated time to a local dog rescue organization and other places too. I’m happy to spread the love!
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
This one is tough! But I love some older Fall Out Boy (not a huge fan of the new stuff) and would pick Chicago Is So Two Years Ago if I’m on my own. But with my boys it’s The Beatles – In My Life because they dig The Beatles!
