Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

Ever since planning my own wedding in 2009, APW has been my go-to source for real, authentic, and sane perspectives. APW couples are down-to-earth. They realize that a wedding is about the creation of a new family FIRST, with all the Fun Sparkles SECOND. Which, APW couples know, doesn’t mean that the Fun Sparkles can’t be amazing and fun and colorful and important. They want weddings that are authentically them, that speak to who they are as a couple and as individuals. My favorite thing about APW couples? They support each other and aren’t judgey about each other’s weddings. Oh, and word on the street is that they are pretty good dancers.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

My artistic approach to weddings starts with getting to know you and your soon-to-be spouse. I love to learn about special experiences you had together, that amazing trip you’ve taken, how you drink coffee and she/he drinks tea, that you’d rather chill on the couch than go out to a bar, and most important, how you want your wedding to feel. I take all those little details and combine them into designs, decorations, and florals that scream YOU. I want your wedding to feel personal, to be 100% UNcookie cutter, to be creative, and to feel like a big, fun party celebrating your love for each other. It’s such a huge honor to create the unique decorations that will make you smile on your wedding day.
Whether you’d love to hire me to design and decorate your whole shebang, or if you’d prefer only some kick a*s ceremony programs or a one-of-a-kind bridal bouquet, I’m thrilled!

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

When not getting my hands dirty with paint and glue, I’m usually sitting on my extremely comfortable couch trying to catch up on the way-too-many shows on my DVR. Also, walks around my Brooklyn neighborhood are important. These normally end with a snack of some kind, which is completely OK by me.

What’s your favorite movie?

I must really like you guys to even admit what my favorite movies are. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is high up on the list. So is Armageddon. Bridesmaids was hilarious. Anything set in the future and kind of techy gets an A+ too.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
