Why do you want to work with APW Couples?
I want to work with couples who have heart, who are thoughtful & genuine, who have a great sense of humor, and whose main intention for their wedding is to celebrate love, friends, and family. I can’t imagine anyone fitting the bill better than APW couples.
Describe your artistic approach to weddings?
My approach is photojournalistic with a dash of editorial inspired portraiture. I aim to capture the authentic and beautiful so that clients can have it all, so to speak. I try to ensure that I am always taking into account composition, light, and emotion. Regardless of the stylistic trend of the moment, I think that excellent photography always has a good balance of these elements.
What are your non-work-related hobbies?
I enjoy traveling to foreign lands, yoga, karaoke-ing diva songs, watching movies, hiking, reading, writing, dabbling in graphic design, learning about everything, trying to keep houseplants alive…the list continues. When possible, I try to gain inspiration from hobbies and infuse it into my photography in order to keep it fresh and unique.
What’s your favorite book?
It’s hard to narrow it down to one since I have favorites in different genres. I’ve always enjoyed books by the classic Russian authors (Nabokov, Dostoevsky). In terms of contemporary fiction, I just finished “The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P.” by Adelle Waldman and enjoyed that as well. I think in general, I like books that focus on exploring peoples’ motivations–how they think and feel.
What’s your favorite movie?
City of God. It’s so epic and has great cinematography.
If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?
I could see myself busting a move to any song(s) featured in this video.
Explain your travel policy:
For weddings outside of a certain radius of the Bay Area, I charge for fuel and depending on the distance, lodging. The details are included in my FAQs.
