Why do you want to work with APW Couples?

I want to work with couples who have heart, who are thoughtful & genuine, who have a great sense of humor, and whose main intention for their wedding is to celebrate L-O-V-E, friends, and family.  I can’t imagine anyone fitting the bill better than APW couples.

Describe your artistic approach to weddings?

My approach is photojournalistic with a dash of editorial. I aim to capture the authentic AND beautiful.  I try to ensure that I am always taking into account composition, light, and emotion.  Regardless of the trend of the moment, I think that good photography almost always distills to successfully handling these.

What are your non-work-related hobbies?

I like travel, yoga, karaoke, hiking, reading, writing, dabbling in graphic design, learning about EVERYTHING, trying to keep houseplants alive…the list continues.

What’s your favorite book?

It’s hard to narrow it down to one since I have favorites in different genres. However, “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt comes readily to mind.

What’s your favorite movie?

Again…so difficult! I really enjoy epic, stylish movies with a philosophical bent, e.g. “City of God” or “Fight Club” that I can mull over afterwards.

If you could have a one minute dance party at your desk, what song would you pick?

A mash up of Beyonce’s “Love on Top” and Twin Shadow’s “At My Heels”.

Explain your travel policy:

I don’t shoot too many weddings that are far from the Bay Area but for those that I do, I charge for lodging and travel.
