One sentence sum up of the wedding vibe: It all came together as it was happening because everyone made it happen.

Favorite thing about the wedding: Being surrounded by people who love and celebrate us, being alone with one another for just long enough to take it all in, and being adorned with rainbow paraphernalia by our awesomely odd and wonderful friends.
Other cool stuff we should know about: The DIY wedding decor fest started when I became obsessed with the natural beauty of twigs, summer grasses and fall leaves, which I collected unceasingly for almost a year before our wedding. Meanwhile, Elizabeth took to crocheting all kinds of flowers and choosing tracks for our wedding playlists. At a certain point, we had lots of beautiful materials but not a lot of time left to put it all together. The most memorable part of our otherwise stressful planning process happened the night before our wedding, when, in our separate spheres of family and friends (Elizabeth and I intentionally chose to be separated for the twenty-four hours before the wedding) everything that was unfinished was taken up by someone who wanted to help. In her hotel room, Elizabeth and her fourteen-year-old niece and nephew finished the playlists, and in our unoccupied and incompletely decorated venue, my parents, sister and Maid of Honor attached little crochet flowers to twigs, strung fall leaves on twine and arranged centerpieces for every table.
