Hey APW,
Does it feel like the first full workweek in ages to anyone else? Or maybe that’s just because the last couple of weeks have had me feeling like I was being tossed around in a cement mixer (hello, baby going through the dreaded four month sleep regression). I’d be lying if I said I was anywhere but deep in baby land right now. My life is basically, baby, work, baby, sleep, but in a way that has been really lovely. The good news is, no sleep, plus needing to entertain a small child has actually made me a much more spontaneously social person of late. Because if I’m going to be exhausted, I might as well be exhausted with people I like, right?
So despite the aforementioned cement mixer, the last few weeks have also felt really short because they were packed with great things. Michael and I took our first family road trip over Labor Day weekend with both the baby and the dog (which always feels like playing Russian roulette with our sanity, but we survived!). And last weekend we crashed a birthday party at a bounce house emporium, before spending the day getting loved up on by Meg’s two kiddos, and topping off our weekend with Lincoln’s first trip to a bar.
I guess what I’m saying is, four months into parenthood, and I’m really enjoying this gig. Even if I’m a wee bit too tired to articulate much more than that. So I’m just going to leave you with some cute photos, and then let you get to happy hour while I count down the hours until (my) bedtime.
Cheers,
Maddie
