Early last month we announced that 2013 would be the year of collaborative How-To’s for APW. In short, the plan is to combine your ideas with our execution to take the guesswork out of DIT crafting for your wedding and to make sure that the tutorials we feature here at APW are for things you’re really excited about. To kick things off, we invited everyone to join our group Pinterest board, and over the past few weeks have been crowdsourcing your favorite DIT projects and poring over all the pretty that you’ve been populating our feed with.
Which means that now, as promised, it’s time for round two! This is the part where we take your ideas and then deconstruct and lazify them for easy (or at least manageable) execution. But first…the big reveal. Out of all of the ideas you pinned, we could only choose a few to execute (for this round at least. We’re grouping them into themes, and executing a few at a time throughout the year). So what’s in store first?

By far our favorite pins have been the big, bold backdrops. As LazyGirls™, we love that one big decorative statement means not only can you can pretty much forego any other visual details if you want to (not that you can’t always do that), but you also get the visual impact that makes it seem like you spent a lot of time slaving over a hot glue gun. Which is the best of both worlds, if you ask me. We’ve pulled together a few of our favorites, which we will be executing later in the year. So keep an eye out as we take your ideas and turn them into lazy reality. In the meantime, check out our picks below and let us know which ones you voted for! And if you’d like to be a part of our next crowdsourced DIT projects, just email team at apracticalwedding dot com to be added to the group Pinterest board.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this round. It was such a treat getting to see what you guys are digging right now, and an even greater treat seeing the comments of our group Pinterest board turn into a place where you not only cast your votes, but are helping each other find solutions to DIT projects before we even get a chance to look at them! Once again proving that this community is the best there is.
