In case you guys haven’t paid attention to the month of February (ever), I’m gonna let you in on a little secret: Valentine’s Day is coming up, and it’s time to get your lovin’ on, in one way or the other. I am one of those people that everyone loves to hate, because I truly enjoy Valentine’s Day in all of its ridiculous and commercial glory. I like big cheesy hearts (there are several hanging in my kitchen), boxes of candy (I will take all of the truffles), and wearing some awful combination of red and pink and telling everyone I love them.
Valentine’s Day is also two days before my actual wedding anniversary, so in our house it’s never too big of a deal. We have a lot of fun with it, but we don’t go all out; no one in this house is getting anything that costs more than $10, and I have found that the best Valentine’s Day gifts are usually free (and a little dirty).
