The shopping list for the average wedding is long. Like, debilitatingly long. IWhen you start planning, you’ll think to yourself things like, “Oh, our budget looks great. My dress may even be less than that. We can totally shop around for vases and save money. We’ve got this.” Then, often, you’ll be somewhere in the messy middle of wedding planning and look around your dining room or office space and realize, “Crap. We’ve really gotten out of control here.”
Professionally, when I’ve helped folks make wedding budgets, I’ve tried to include a buffer for this exact issue. But when it came to my own wedding, I have to let you in on a little secret… if something was going to be used/worn forever (ahem, wedding accessories)… I didn’t always count it against my budget. I mean… wedding bands? Those are forever. Shoes or jewelry that is likely to be worn regularly? That feels a little different than my floral budget, which was only going to be enjoyed for one day (albeit… deeply enjoyed).
If you’re more of a record-every-dollar person, that’s okay too. I just think that if we can stretch our wedding purchases and budget to last a lifetime, we should. So, we’ve rounded up a whole bunch of wedding accessories that you’ll (truly) wear forever. Now let’s get to it!
Wedding Accessories You’ll Wear Forever
Beyond & Back Necklace from Catbird NYC
Speaking of forever… this adorable necklace gives me all the “’til death” vibes that I am here for. It would make a perfectly dainty statement on wedding day, and every day after. Bonus points for (free) custom engraving!
Diamond Pavé Huggie Hoop from Italic
We’ve talked about Italic before… they are a brilliant marketplace full of curated luxury products at affordable prices. We 10/10 recommend joining their membership—you can snag yourself amazing basics like these gold huggies at an incredible deal.
Boheme Cultured Pearl Necklace from Nordstrom
My grandma always used to say that ‘a simple string of pearls never goes out of style.’ This necklace of cultured pearls will level up your wedding accessories, and your Zoom meeting look forevermore.
Gold Sphere Studs 5mm from Italic
When it comes to items you’ll love and wear forever, sometimes simplicity is key. These simple gold sphere earrings are a great example and would be perfect alone or as a second set of earrings.
Go To Bracelet Set from Gorjana
Gorjana makes beautiful, simple, and classic gold pieces that could be worn with jeans or a ball gown.
Masen Earrings from Anthropologie
Combining pearls with a fun art deco pop of style is such a fun look. Plus these will look amazing with a little black dress on date night.
Knotted Pendant Necklace from Victoria Emerson
This simple knot necklace from Victoria Emerson is too perfect for when you tie the knot (*wink*).
Diamond Pavé Bar Bracelet from Italic
If dainty and sparkly is what you’re looking for, this diamond pavé bracelet is exactly what you need. And you won’t be mad at the price, either.
The Tracy Earring from The Vintage Royalty
There’s little I love more than a good statement earring, and if you’re looking for art you can wear, The Vintage Royalty is for you. These Tracy earrings are a fun pop of style that will look amazing with a wedding dress or jeans and a t-shirt.
Asher in White from Hushed Commotion
For a smaller statement earring look, these white stone earrings from Hushed Commotion do the trick.
Finnick Glass Loop Drop Earrings from Hushed Commotion
I absolutely love these glass drop earrings. They’re a barely-there, and totally perfect style for your wedding day and beyond.
Custom Half Moon Signet Necklace from Catbird NYC
What better time than your wedding to start showing off your new initials (if that’s your thing). You can get this sweet signet necklace engraved with your initials, your love’s initials, or anything else you want to rock around your neck for the rest of time.
Baby Pearl Bracelet from Catbird NYC
A thin and subtle string of pearls for your wrist would look stunning alone, or stacked with other bracelets.
Blanca Preserved Flower Earrings from BHLDN
If you’re into a boho vibe (hi, I am), these are for you. You’ll look perfectly Woodstock on your wedding day, and every day after.
Dollhouse Locket from Catbird NYC
Lockets are such a special addition to wedding day details. Photos of family or friends who can’t be with you, or just a favorite photo of your new spouse will feel just right on your wedding day, and be something you can enjoy forever.
For Masculine Folks
I think a wrist piece that your beau can wear everyday is the most perfect wedding gift. Citizen makes this stunning black and diamond timepiece that anyone would be proud to wear with a tuxedo, a suit, or their business casual weekday look.
Monogrammed Washed Linen Handkerchief / Pocket square from Nordyo on Etsy
If you’re in the market for a pocket square or a hankie to dry your eyes during your wedding ceremony, why not choose a custom one that you’ll be able to use for all your friend’s weddings in the future?
Custom Topographic Ties from Kind Design
We partnered with Kind Designs for our wedding and they helped create ties and pocket squares with a topographic map of the place where we got engaged last year. We absolutely loved having such special pieces for our friends and family to have forever.
Black Custom Cuff Links from NightingaleShopGifts on Etsy
Cufflinks these days are so fun, and offer endless customization options. I’m a fan of a simple style that will go with any suit you might wear for years to come.
Champagne Bottle Crew Socks from Hot Sox
A fun sock option to wear under your wedding outfit, and then again for New Years.
Shoes
Dahlia Gold Pleated Bow Heel by Loeffler Randall
Wedding shoes can get pretty pricey… and while I’m all for leaning into whatever feels best for you, I tend to think it’s best to get shoes that are definitely re-wearable. These Loeffler Randall heels should do the trick just fine, and with a hefty dose of style.
If comfort and style need to collide for your perfect wedding shoes, these heels from Soludos might be just right. The neutral colors will go well with just about any dress, and that cute wood-style heel adds a little something.
Miranda Peep Toe in Bone from Bryr
I’m such a big clog fan, I wore Bryr clogs on my wedding day. The Miranda Peep Toe is a seriously perfect wedding shoe, and trust me when I say that you’ll want to wear them every day.
Joy Ankle Strap Sandal by Naturalizer
Looking for a little shimmer? These strappy heels from Naturalizer will go great with a little black dress, an interview outfit, or your wedding day outfit of choice.
Keds x Kate Spade New York Champion Glitter Sneakers
I’m a total comfort junkie, and these Keds are just what the doctor ordered for dancing the night away, and you can bring them to every dance party you get invited to in the future, too.
Wedding Accessories To Have And To Hold
Arizona Feather Bag from BHLDN
If you’re running off to City Hall, you’ll need your ID… drop it in this adorable feathered bag from BHLDN. Then rock the feathers every chance you get.
Dry Flower Bouquet from Kayya Decor on Etsy
Okay, okay… stick with me here. A dried floral bouquet, like this one, will look absolutely stunning on your wedding day. It will also be impressive in a vase on your mantle as a memento and decor piece. Dreamy.
‘Happily Ever After’ Clutch by Twine and Love on Etsy
I’m in love with this beaded clutch. The best part? It doesn’t say ‘bride’, so you can use it forever! It’ll be the perfect night-out clutch for every wedding you ever find yourself attending.
Personalized Acrylic Clutch from The Brodie Bride on Etsy
Put your new (or original) initials to use on a cute acrylic clutch like this one. Pro tip: wedding accessories like this are perfect for lipstick, mints, and safety pins.
To Top It Off
Pearl Barette Hair Clip from Kitsch on Amazon
You’re pretty unlikely to wear a veil on a daily basis, but a simple hair clip like this one is bound to go to good use.
Antique Celestial Hair Clips from URBANSHeUK on Etsy
I love these little sparkles to don on your wedding day, then pull back out any chance you can to fancy up an outfit. Talk about dreamy wedding accessories!
June Ivory Pearl Headband from Lele Sadoughi
If hats aren’t your thing, what about headbands? This ivory pearl number is too good… it gives me wedding vibes, but would look just as amazing when you’re rushing out to the grocery store but forgot to brush your hair.
Monroe Rancher in Ivory from Gigi Pip
We are 100% campaigning to make wedding hats more of a thing in the coming years. I love this narrow brim Monroe from Gigi Pip. Add dried flowers to the band for your wedding day, and rock it plain for the rest of your days.
Dashca Hair Ribbon Set from Loeffler Randall
This sweet blush velvet bow would look just right for a laid-back wedding style, or a quick hairdo on a Wednesday.
Underneath it all
You’ll never regret owning good shapewear that you can throw on when you feel the urge. I’m a huge fan of Honeylove—it holds you in all the right ways… and I’ve already worn my wedding shapewear more than once.
Open Bust Bodysuit with Open Gusset by Skims
Meg swears by Skims shapewear for day-to-day use… find one that will work with your wedding dress, and also your favorite night-on-the-town dress, and you’ll get plenty of use out of this purchase.
Up For Anything Strapless™ Bra by Spanx
A good strapless bra is a game-changer in life. This one, from Spanx, will smooth and hold you up for your wedding day and last years to come.
