Hey APW,
Meg and I are currently coming at you from our hotel room in NYC, where our pet goldfish (!) is keeping us company. While we were officially in town for our cocktail party celebrating our plus size wedding dress collaboration with Lace & Liberty (co-hosted by the lovely team at at Brideside’s NYC showroom), we couldn’t make a trip to New York without stopping to say hi to a few familiar faces. We popped in for a visit to the internet, aka Buzzfeed, to see our former intern, Rachel.
I’ve been dying to get to The Wing ever since Meg and Najva hung out there last year, so one of our favorite female founders, Corie Hardee of Union Station, got us the hookup. (There’s a pump room, y’all. And a beauty station. And all the weird feminist art your heart could desire.)
Then Meg filmed a quick segment for Yahoo News (we’ll let you know when that drops!). And it was off to our event celebrating the #ThisIsMyWeddingBody plus size wedding dress collection. We saw lots of friendly APW faces, and then one of my old college friends tried on a dress and kind of slayed the night.
It’s been a whirlwind trip of a week, but there’s something magical about being in New York in December, and getting to reunite with old friends amid the lights and the mild snow flurry we got yesterday. Now we are off to celebrate a well earned trip to the Color Factory. So I’m signing off and heading to the ball pit. And with that, it’s your happy hour, so get to it.
